
She’s paralyzed in the same spot she’s stood for the past two days. Brooke can feel his callous hands on her face, he’s pleading for her to look up, and she doesn’t deny him. He finally tells her what she’s known all along. The guilt is eating him alive of not being able to stop it; to save her. She hates herself for not being able to say stay. But today she calls. She lets him know he hasn’t let her down and she wants him to come back home. She drowns herself in fears; she’s going to be stuck forever but then she hears it. His voice filtering through the answering machine, he’ll be home soon.
